went for a drive with my father and best friend and his dad,
to see a lady about buying a used car, which I put down a payment on,
and the lady was nice enough to let me take a picture of her reaction to the health care reform bill passing for my "faces of health care reform" series.

My thoughts on the Health care reform...I believe that the Health care system is broken but I do not believe the government should be in countrol of that. I think the current health care system needs to be fixed and that the insurance companies need to be regulated in some way. I also don't agree the government should be exempt on using their health care system that they passed but we as taxpayers will be forced to. I beleive everyone needs health care insurance but it is impossible for the average american to pay the premiums. I really don't know what the best answer to this big debate is. I just wished that they let the Americans vote on such an important issue.

The health care debate is a nuanced and complicated issue. Unfortunately most of the people reporting on it are coloring it severely with their bias and over simplifying to the point of downright lies. I thought of the "Faces" series the night the bill passed, as a sort of way to be honest about the issue without bias. I take any picture of reactions to the bill I am allowed. The people have their opinions and I think the pictures capture a certain amount of that. It all them, and I don't have to pit my own opinion against theirs. I don't have to agree with or understand their reaction, just record it. I think that the series is turning out pretty good so far.
